Cummins Southern Africa is looking to strategically consolidate and solidify its various business premises in support of its position as Africa’s preferred energy and power provider.

In pursuit of excellent customer service and to reinforce the Cummins Africa Middle East vision to get closer to customers and improve efficiencies in a collaborative manner, Cummins Southern Africa is building new premises in the highly acclaimed business area.

“We celebrate the start of the journey towards our new offices as we break ground for construction to commence," notes Thierry Pimi, MD of Cummins Southern Africa.

"Our relocation to Waterfall City is of critical importance to our business as it positions us at the epicentre of Gauteng’s most dynamic and strategically located business hub.

The Waterfall City environment aligns with the importance Cummins Southern Africa places on work-life balance that we encourage for our employees,” continues Pimi.

The new premises, developed in line with Waterfall’s sustainability approach and principles, will include the Cummins Southern Africa regional operations, the master rebuild centre, the current Cummins Longmeadow branch and the technical training centre; and will boast spacious premises of approximately 15 355 m2.

The long-awaited state-of-the-art building is due for completion in October 2018 and the various operations will occupy the building in stages until full occupancy is achieved in early 2019.

Cummins Southern Africa's office space will be designed to accommodate different preferred work styles of employees, aligned to the Cummins smart office standards, whilst ensuring individuals and teams enjoy access to space and tools to ensure maximum productivity.

The workshop and warehouse facilities’ layouts will accommodate the flexibility required to adjust to market trends and future growth.

The equipment in the workshop will be best in class to ensure professional deliverables.

The premises will be in close proximity to the Cummins Africa Middle East Johannesburg regional office, which recently relocated to the Waterfall City Allandale building.

“We are excited about embarking on this journey with Cummins and believe that once complete in November 2018, the building will be a pioneering development within our logistics hub," says Pete Mackenzie, head of development at Attacq.

"We welcome Cummins Southern Africa and are thrilled they chose to find a home with us,” continues Mackenzie.

Waterfall City’s central location in relation to Pretoria, Johannesburg and Sandton, as well as its proximity to major highways, transport nodes and the Gautrain Station, makes it an ideal location for businesses looking for safe working premises and an appealing working environment.

“The cutting edge, innovative building architecture and proximity to the Cummins Africa Middle East operations will enhance productivity, improve strategic intent and magnify collaboration between functions.

The journey starts today and we are ready,” concludes Pimi.
